Auxiliary 50 – American Red Cross Blood Drive

On June 13, 2017 the AMVETS Ladies Aux Post 50 sponsored and ran their 25th American Red Cross Blood Drive at the Phillips Municipal Building. A total of 115 units of blood was collected. AMVETS Post 50 & Auxiliary – Veterans Welcome Home Picnic

Veterans Welcome Home Picnic July 19, 2018 was held at Happy Daze Bar & grill Kennan, Wi. It was sponsored by The Kennan Legion Post. Around 90 veterans and family’s attended. Donations to the Honor Flight were made. One from the AMVETS Post 50 and Auxiliary of $9500.00. One from the Combined effort With AMVETS, Legion and VFW $4500.00. One from Happy Daze for $1000.00. A fine time was had by all.

Auxiliary 50 – A Slice of Pie

AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary Post 50 The AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary held their annual “A Slice of Pie” and Flag sale fund raiser during the Fourth of July weekend. All money collected went to helping send our 5 local veterans who will be going on the Never Forgotten Honor Flight which will be going on September 11, 2017.

On the Fourth of July the AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary hosted their fifth annual “Slice of Pie Sale” All proceeds from the pie sale went to sending our 5 local veterans on the Never Forgotten Honor Flight.

Auxiliary 50 – Never Forgotten Honor Flight Brat Sale

AMVETS Ladies Aux. Post 50 On July 21, 2017 the AMVETS Ladies Aux held a Brat Sale at Pick ‘n Save grocery store. All the proceeds from the sale went to sending local veterans on the Never forgotten Honor Flight. Pictured are Aux. members Carol Lapp, Pres. AMVETS Post 50 – Veterans Welcome Home Picnic

Picture 2: AMVETS Post 50 Phillips, Wisconsin along with the American Legion and VFW held the 15 annual “Veterans Welcome Home” picnic. It started with the dedication of the “1967 Vietnam memorial”. About 100 people attended the picnic.

Auxiliary 50 – AMVETS Against Drugs and Alcohol Abuse Poster/Essay Contest

Kendra Pritzl daughter of Nate and Cindi Pritzl of Butternut won Second Place in the AMVETS Against Drugs and Alcohol Abuse Poster/Essay contest at the AMVETS National Convention which was held at Norfolk, Virginia in August. Kendra attends the Butternut Elementary school and was in Mrs. Ronda Dural’s Fourth Grade class. She received a gift card in the amount of $75. AMVETS District 4 picnic. The men were retiring 1507 flags. And then they had lunch and a meeting afterwards.

Auxiliary 13 – School of Engineering

AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary 13 Mary Woiak, Dawn Fadrow, Dale Fadrow and Greg Woiak Sr, attended a free Veterans lunch at school of Engineering in Wautoma WI. It was for all Veterans and organizations in Waushara County. They also got a tour of facility and speakers were there as well. AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary 13 Pictures from donation to Back school Bash for Waushara County. First picture is list of supplies. And last picture is Mary’s granddaughter Brielle Anderson and grandson Kaiden Woiak, who helped deliver all the supplies to Waushara County Human Services with Mary.

Auxiliary 13 – Cleaning up Ditches & Volunteering at King

AMVETS Post 99, Auxiliary & Representative from VFW 659 – Ice Cream Social

AMVETS Post 99, 99 Auxiliary and a representative from VFW 659 hosted an ice cream social at St Mary’s Nursing Home in Manitowoc. The veterans were honored with gifts and everyone enjoyed bingo and ice cream. All veterans and Post members had their picture taken for the event.

AMVETS Post 50 – Brigadoon Winery Fundraiser

AMVETS Post 50 , Phillips WI Was give a chance to raise fund for their programs by Brigadoon Winery, Tripoli, WI. Food menu was Brats, Hamburgers, hot dogs & chips. The day was a great success. All food was sold.

Auxiliary 50 – Americanism Poster/Essay Contest

Post 6440 Bloomer WI, along with the VFW and American Legion held a Flag Retirement Ceremony Thursday, September 7.

Auxiliary 50 – Quilts for Never Forgotten Honor Flight

On Sept.8, 2017, Linda Warner, Prentice a member of the First Lutheran Quilters, attended the AMVETS Ladies Aux. monthly meeting and presented the five quilts the Prentice quilters gave to the Auxiliary to be given to those local veterans going on the Never Forgotten Honor Flight in Sept. and Oct. of 2017.

The veterans who received a beautiful lap quilt were: George Valiga, Lawrence Wang, John Buchta, Joe Heizler and Ed Simpson. The Prentice ladies who made the quilts were: Linda Warner, Bev Hora, Bonnie Uhren and Dee Burke. Pictured is Linda Warner with George Valiga and the quilt he received.

Auxiliary 50 – Life Jacket Loaner Station

Pictured is the second Life Jacket Loaner Station the AMVETS Ladies Aux. Post 50 sponsored and was built by AMVETS members Deric Bilgrien and his father John Bilgrien. The Life Jacket was placed at the Solberg Lake boat landing.

Auxiliary 50 – School Supply Donation

On September 12, 2017 AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary members Lonnie Sherry and Pres. Dolores Gradinjan delivered the donated school supplies, clothing, tennis shoes and snow pants to the Prentice Elementary school and the Ogema Elementary school from the auxiliary.

AMVETS Post 99 & Auxiliary – Backpack Project

AMVETS Post 99 – Top Hat Fundraiser

Don Murray, owner of the Top Hat, and other friends a, had a fund raiser for AMVETS Post 99. They had a bike wash, music, by Bare Bones Blind, raffles, and food. AMVETS members participated with selling the food.

AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary Post 50, Phillips On September 20, 2017 the AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary Post 50 host a birthday party for all residents having a birthday in the month of September. The party was held at the Aspirus Pleasant View Nursing Home in Phillips. A total of 55 residents attended. A polka band played, cake and ice cream was served and gifts were given to the four residents having a birthday in the month of September. Auxiliary 50 – American Red Cross Blood Drive

On October 17, 2017 the AMVETS Ladies Aux. host their 26th American Red Cross blood drive at the Phillips Municipal Building. The Phillips Masonic Lodge furnished the meal for the workers and the 35 dozen cookies for the donors were baked by the Auxiliary members. A total of 108 units of blood was collected that day. Great drive considering their were 23 No Shows.

Auxiliary 50 – Trick or Treat

AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary Post 50, Phillips On October 30, 2017 the AMVETS Auxiliary made up Trick or Treat goodie bags and delivered them to the residents living at the Aspirus Regency House, Duroy Terrace Apartments Assisted Living, Aspirus Primrose, Aspirus Rosewood and Lakeside Villa LLC apartments. A total of 78 bags of goodies were delivered to the residents.

The Manitowoc Chiefs Youth (5th – 8th grade) Football is supporting AMVETS Post 99 Auxiliary again this year by collecting items for the ‘Pack for the Troops’ program which distributes to current members in the military from the tri- county area. The Auxiliary will be doing a holiday mailing in November. Anyone who has family or friends serving overseas can call our Americanism Chair, Mary Pohl at 920-901-7358 to share address.

AMVETS Post 50 – Veterans Day

Philips Elementary school hosted breakfast with the Veterans, all Veterans were invited. AMVETS Post 50 member Emily Nerison was the guest speaker. All Honor Flight members were invited to program. The kids all did their parts. A flag folding presentation was conducted with the meaning of every fold explained. AMVETS Post 50 member Don Paulus was the guest speaker at the middle school.

The high point of the day was firing the 105 Howitzer by C battery 1 / 120 FA , Marshfield. Both young and old fire it. After the program AMVETS and Auxiliary members visited and gave a gift to all vets in the assisted living homes.  Nov 11 a Veteran’s information and benefits programs was set up, new members were signed up also.

AMVETS Post 50 & Auxiliary

On November 3. 2017 AMVETS Auxiliary members Linda Schweikert and Pres. Dolores Gradinjan paid a visit to Hope Lodge and the Ronald McDonald House in Marshfield, WI . The auxiliary purchased $400 worth of supplies that the homes had listed on their wish lists.

The supplies were then divided equally between the two homes. The reason the Auxiliary donates to the two homes is between of the large number of people from Price County who use them on their visits to the Marshfield Hospital.

On November 10, 2017 AMVETS Auxiliary President Dolores Gradinjan and Commander Douglas Rasmussen paid a special visit to all those veterans living at the Aspirus Regency House, Aspirus Duroy Terrace Apartments and Lakeside Villa and presented all six veterans, living in those homes, with a container of treats.

The AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary paid a visit to each of the class rooms at the Phillips Elementary school, before the Veteran’s Day program and give each child three gifts for Veterans Day. The gifts were patriotic pencils, patriotic stickers and a red, white & blue lollie pop.  The auxiliary also visited the Middle School and High School and gave each student a patriotic ink pen. All veterans and auxiliary members were invited to eat at the High School, where they enjoyed a delicious meal.

Miss Alli Lueloff, daughter of Dave and Lisa Lueloff of Glidden won First Prize at the AMVETS National Convention that was held in Norfolk, Virginia in August. Alli attends the Butternut Elementary School and was in Mrs. Brenda Setterman’s Second Grade class. Alli drew a poster and wrote an essay in the AMVETS Against Drugs and Alcohol Abuse contest grades K-2. Her unique poster stated “OWL” Never Use Drugs. For her efforts she received a beautiful plaque and a gift card in the amount of $75.

Auxiliary 13 – Toy Drive

Mary L Woiak Child Welfare Auxiliary 13, collected over 1,584 toys. Mary had two stores she collected from ,started from Nov. 17 and went til Dec.7th. Collected for her local AUXILIARY and distributed to Jed Hazen of Top Hats and they distributed to 3 families Plus donated to another organization,plus they donated to Weekend Wish, Mary also donated to hands of hope,and few other organizations,plus gave to families who needed toys. Next year she is working with Top Hats to make her simple toy collection be bigger and help more. She will also be going to Weekend Wish and seeing how they help Veteran families,Fallen Police officers families as well as firemen fallen families,caretakers,and disabled children. She will get more info to share with all Posts and Auxiliaries.

Auxiliary 13 and Post 13 delivered our two Veteran Families food, gifts, gas cards, haircut certificates. Post 6440 – Christmas Gift Baskets

Bloomer AMVETS December 21, Post 6440 Vice Commander Paul McElroy and Commander Darren Knutson with the 18 2017 Christmas gift baskets for veterans living in the Bloomer and Cornell nursing homes. The baskets contain oranges, apples, candy, toothbrush and toothpaste, and a nice pair of winter weight socks.

AMVETS Post 50 & Auxiliary – Christmas Party

AMVETS Post 50 & Auxiliary, Phillips, Wi held their Christmas party at Donnie’s Road Side Dec 18, 2017. The special event of the evening was the presentation of a “Blue Star Banner” to Blake & Kay Pluemer. Two of their children are in the Air Force, 1lt Paige Pluemer and Cadet Pierce Pluemer. Games were played after the meal. A fine time was had by all.

On Monday, December 4, 2017 AMVETS Auxiliary member Linda Schweikert and Dolores Gradinjan paid a visit to the Aspirus Duroy Terrace Apartments, Aspirus Regency House, Aspirus Pleasant View Nursing Home and Lakeside Villa with a large box of small treats and stuffed animals which the various homes could use as prizes for their weekly Bingo games.
