It has been my privilege to serve as your 2nd Vice Commander this year. My primary focus has been to increase Post reporting, with the goal of 100% participation. While we did not reach that target, 18 Posts successfully reported programs at least once this year. This is an improvement of several Posts compared to last year, though it still falls short of the 50% mark.
Thank you to the following Posts for actively reporting their program hours:
Post 1 Whitehall
Post 4 South Milwaukee
Post 7 Oshkosh
Post 10 Shawano
Post 13 Redgranite
Post 37 Milwaukee
Post 45 New London
Post 51 Sturgeon Bay
Post 57 Howard-Suamico
Post 60 Oak Creek
Post 127 Ladysmith
Post 190 Spooner
Post 262 Caledonia
Post 911 Kansasville
Post 1032 Reedsville
Post 2017 Cornell Lake
Post 2180 Tomah
Combined, the Department recorded 1,206 program entries, generating a total value of $1,563,998.23, including cash donations of $121,243.24. Thank you for an outstanding program year!
Reviewing the Convention and SEC reports reveals that several Posts not listed above were active in programs and could have recorded their hours but chose not to do so. I hope you can fix this locally in your Post. Serving veterans and our communities is the core of what we do. There are few better ways to honor that service than through the wide range of programs that AMVETS provides. I challenge your Post to improve and commit to recording your program hours moving forward.
If you are new to programs, I highly encourage you to attend my training session at Convention:
Programs Training: Saturday, June 20th (1:00 PM – 2:00 PM) – Cayuga Room, Oneida Hotel and Casino
I will cover the basics of program reporting and walk you through how to enter your data.
