Post 30 - Go Guard Donation
AMVETS Post 30 Cmdr Rick Vesperman accepts Go Guard donation from VFW 2778 Cmdr Wayne Martin at the Fox Valley Veterans Council meeting held at the Grand Meridian on March 18th.
Post 30 recently received donations from AMVETS Post 7, Blue Star Mothers Chapter 1, as well as donations from American Legion and Auxiliaries including Post/Unit 41, 38, 55, and 258 as well as the Outgamie County Council Auxiliary. The Go Guard mission started in October of 2020 to bring good and welfare morale to the Joint Task Force of Air and Army National Guard has been very successful with the unity of veteran organizations in the Fox Valley area giving focus on our currently serving.
AMVETS Post 30 is proud to be the working force behind this mission and thanks everyone for the support and connections in bringing quality good to the soldiers and airmen. We did this together!!!!!!

Post 30 - Go Guard Mission Continues with AMVETS Post 30 Leading the Charge
Mission FEB 10 2021
Owners of Draft Gastropub and Urban Modern Kitchen, Shirley and Luiz Vazquez, and their staff prepared 60 Baked potatoes with roasted vegetables and shredded pork asking us to take the money for the food and pay it forward. Festival Foods of Appleton’s Manager Ricky Green gave us a $40 gift card to help purchase condiments for the potato which was procured through help of Marlene Cops. AMVETS Post 30 did the shopping for the other items needed for the meal utilizing funds above the gift card that have been donated recently by American Legion Post 55 and the County Council. Purchases included Apples, Bananas, and Oranges along with some cases of Yogurt and Health/Energy Drink choices. Camo Coop donated Red Barn Cheddar Cheese sticks to those purchased through them by the Craddock’s which brought the total of sticks to about 100! All quality food items and well received choices!! CMDR Rick Vesperman and Finance Officer Thomas Glass of AMVETS Post 30 delivered to the members at the Waupaca Fairgrounds who were overwhelmed with receiving such a lunch and snacks….their first time lunch delivery from us. The Reid Golf Course team was also very pleased receiving theirs from driver Kim Craddock. They were the Appleton team last month so they knew it would be good however we def surpassed expectations when we delivered to them at our Appleton North site. We also gifted the Lead at Reid with a Happy Birthday Card and chocolates from Post 30. The Sunnyview site was all hands on deck when we delivered the bulk, unfortunately their numbers were down at that site and members were working elsewhere. The Vaccine ran out the day before but none the less MSG Dubuc and Craddock delivered some of the food to the hotels and setup dinner for those not at Sunnyview that day. The food was outstanding, the interactions were as well, and we also left resource material on Veterans Village, $100 Food Cards for 100 Veterans Grant from Bob Woodruff Foundation, and invited them to the 100 cars for 100th Birthday for Lloyd Ellefson this Saturday. Be so cool if a few of them join us in our cold weather vs vegging in their hotel rooms. We delivered to all three sites before 11:30 using two driver teams. Go Guard! Go Fox Valley Veterans Organizations and Community Support. Working on Italian Meal for March. We hope the OIC Lt Schmitz of those teams will be at our next FVVC Meeting Feb 18th to share a bit about their missions.

January and February
JANUARY – GO Guard
Dec 21 we delivered 40 gourmet level box lunches(not your military kind) to 2 Covid sites of Guardsman at Appleton North and Sunnyview. The OIC Lt Schmitz delivered the box lunches to the 3rd site in Manitowoc. Donaldson’s of Hortonville packaged up the Gourmet box lunches. Donations came from Fox Cities Lions, Desert Vets, and American Legion Outagamie County Council as well as members of AMVETS Post 30. We also delivered 5 dozen sweet rolls along with other snacks the first week of January.
February – GO Guard
We delivered 60 hot potatoes to 3 Covid Sites on Feb 10th. Cmdr Rick Vesperman and Off Thomas Glass headed to Waupaca Fairgrounds to meet up with SSG Pidgeon for their Hot Lunch and goodies. Not only did Draft Gastropub and Urban Modern Kitchen owners and staff prepare the Hot Potatoes, roasted vegetables, and shredded pork but they told us to pay it forward donating all the hot food! Donations we had, esp. one from our PickNSave on Wisconsin Ave managed by Ricky Greene, were used to purchase Yogurt, fresh fruit, cheese sticks, and drinks, packaging it for each site. Off Kim Craddock headed to Reid Gold Course to drop off to SSG Martin and team giving SSG Martin a Happy Birthday Card and Chocolates. Kim met up with Rick and Thomas at Sunnyview where the main group works. Msg David Dubuc and AMVETS member(newly promoted to E7) MSG Kenton Craddock took food later to the hotels where the Guard lodge so others in the field or on road had a great home cook style meal. We had donation support from American Legion Posts and Auxiliaries in Fox Cities come in for this. Great networking support of Fox Cities Veteran Organizations for the Guard. Next month is Lasagna Lunch! Here are some of the pictures from that day:
